Avakaya is the quintessential Mango pickle that can be found in virtually every South Indian kitchen. A meal isn’t complete without a dash of our delicious Avakaya to spice up the taste of any food item! Avakaya adds a flavorful kick to your taste buds and livens up any dish. Our Avakayas are made from an authentic traditional recipe, and come in several flavors: plain, with garlic, with ginger and garlic, with jaggery, menthikaya (with fenugreek), pachcha Avakaya (with mirchi from Gollaprolu town in East Godavari district), with sesame seeds powder, pesara avakaya (with moong dal powder) and more. Our standard avakaya has chunks of mango with skin. It is normal to encounter harder fragments, these are pieces of the mango seed shell, and are not edible, Although, chewing on the shell is quite satisfying as it is quite flavorful.
Avakaya is a great accompaniment for traditional dishes like idli, dosa, upma, uthappam, curd rice and dal. Avakaya also adds a dash of spice and pairs well with a whole host of dishes, from falafel, pita bread, tortillas, and tacos to omelettes, burgers, sweet pancakes and grilled veggies!

A garlic delight variant of our classic Avakaya. Roasted garlic kernels are added to our classic variety. Over a period of time, the garlic is soaked and marinated in the rest of the ingredients makes this one of the popular variant of Avakaya.
